The Service Learning and Volunteer Center will be holding a series of events for Make a Difference Day this Friday 21, and Saturday the 22. Friday will be devoted to preparing for the upcoming holiday season at the Salvation Army in Oceanside, from 9 a.m. to 12 a.m.
On Saturday 22, the first service opportunity event will be held at North County Community Services in the Child Development Center, from 8 through 11:30 a.m. and attire should be appropriate for gardening activity. This service opportunity will be aimed at helping low income families, “We here at MiraCosta like love to make a great impact on our community,” said Courtney Pender-Mack Service Learning Student Advocate.
Service Learning will also be at Teri Incorporated, holding an event to benefit youth with autism and cognitive disorders. Participants should be ready to paint so dress accordingly. There are still 25 spots left to join.
At a different location there will be an opportunity at the San Dieguito Heritage Museum from 8 a.m. through 11a.m. to work in painting and gardening as well.
