Spartans scare away hunger

scarespartanFrom Oct.10, through the 17, the Service Learning and Volunteer Center will be hosting a food donation drive to provide an option for students in need. Donate unexpired, nonperishable, prepackaged food items in boxes at the Bookstore, Child Development Center, Cafeteria, Student Activities, Administration, Horticulture, CLC Lounge, Nursing Counseling and Student Center.

Cash or grocery store gift cards can be donated to the MiraCosta College Foundation Office.

Damaged or expired cans are not accepted. The most popular foods include soups, tuna, and fruits.

Hunger is a serious issue that affects many people in our community, even fellow MCC students. Students in need can visit the Service Learning and Volunteer Center for access to these services.

To volunteer to visit the Service Learning and Volunteer Center at (760) 795-6616, or email  jmartinez@miracosta.edu (or) smendez@miracosta.edu.
